Silicon Metal is a cornerstone of modern industry, finding critical applications in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum (aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts production), silicon optoelectronic devices, and more. Known as the 'salt' of modern industries, this material is crafted from quartz and coke in electric heating furnaces. Boasting a silicon content of approximately 98%, it includes minor impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Our premium Silicon Metal lump is produced in an electric heating furnace using quartz and coke. Through a redox process, quartz transforms into molten silicon, which solidifies upon cooling into the large primal silicon metal lumps.
These large lumps are then processed into smaller, standard-sized pieces, typically ranging from 10-100mm.
Featuring a striking silver-gray or dark-gray hue with a metallic luster, our Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
