Silicon Metal is an essential industrial catalyst, pivotal in enhancing the quality of steel, cast iron, and aluminum used in aviation, aerospace, and automotive industries. This versatile material also finds applications in silicon optoelectronics and numerous other sectors, earning the moniker "salt" of modern industries. Derived from the smelting of quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace, our metal silicon boasts a silicon content of approximately 98%, with the remaining constituents being iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Produced in electric heating furnaces using quartz and coke, Silicon Metal lumps undergo a redox reaction to form molten silicon. Once cooled, this becomes the solid silicon metal lumps we recognize. Initially, these lumps are quite large.
Subsequently, these large silicon metal lumps are processed into standard-sized smaller lumps, ranging from 10-100mm.
Our Silicon Metal is distinguished by its silver-gray or dark gray hue and metallic luster. It possesses a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and exceptional oxidation resistance.
1) Silicon Metal is extensively used in refractory materials and the power metallurgy industry to enhance heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the chemical sector, industrial silicon powder serves as a fundamental raw material for the synthesis of high polymers in organic silicon.
3) Industrial silicon powder is refined into monocrystalline silicon, a critical component in high-tech fields, predominantly used in integrated circuits and electronic elements.
4) In metallurgy and foundry applications, industrial silicon powder acts as an additive in iron-based alloys and silicon steel alloys, significantly improving steel hardenability.
5) Silicon metal is also a key ingredient in producing high-temperature materials.
Our premier products include ferromanganese, metallic silicon, silicon carbon alloy, cored wire, ferrochrome, silicon manganese alloy, silicon carbide, ferrosilicon, silicon aluminum barium calcium, silicon barium calcium, and more.
