Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial product with versatile applications ranging from steel-making and cast iron production to the creation of aluminum for aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts. Its usage extends to silicon optoelectronic devices and additional industries, earning it the nickname "salt" of modern industries. This remarkable metal is produced from quartz and coke in electric heating furnaces, boasting a silicon content of approximately 98%. The remaining impurities include iron, aluminum, and calcium, adding to its unique properties.
Silicon Metal lumps are born from the fusion of quartz and coke within electric heating furnaces. Through a redox process, quartz transforms into molten silicon liquid. Once cooled, it solidifies into the large primal silicon metal lumps we see. These lumps are then meticulously processed
into smaller, standardized sizes, ranging from 10-100mm, known as Silicon Metal Lumps.
Characterized by its silver-gray to dark-gray hue and metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, superior resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance, making it a highly sought-after material.
1) Silicon Metal is extensively utilized in the refractory material and power metallurgy industries to enhance heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the realm of organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as the fundamental raw material for high polymers and organic silicon formation.
3) Industrial silicon powder is also sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, a vital component in high-tech fields, particularly as an essential raw material for integrated circuits and electronic elements.
4) Within metallurgy and foundry sectors, industrial silicon powder acts as a key iron-base alloy additive, enhancing the properties of silicon steel, thereby improving the steel's hardenability.
5) Silicon Metal is crucial in the production of high-temperature materials due to its robust characteristics.
