When employed in this process, the deoxidation products-mnsio3 and mn2sio4-boast melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC, respectively, offering remarkable benefits such as a low melting point, substantial particle size, ease of flotation, and superior deoxidation efficacy. In comparative scenarios, the burning loss rate is considerably lower when using silicon manganese alloy for deoxidizing, at 29%, as opposed to 46% and 37% for separate manganese or silicon deoxidization. The production of silicon manganese alloy involves the simultaneous reduction of manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag), manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide in silica using carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
