Silicon Metal is a pivotal industrial product utilized in steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum industries, including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts production. It also finds applications in silicon optoelectronic devices and numerous other industries, earning the moniker 'salt' of modern industries. Produced from quartz and coke in electric heating furnaces, metal silicon boasts a silicon content of approximately 98%, with the remainder consisting of trace impurities like iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are produced in an electric heating furnace using quartz and coke. Quartz undergoes a redox reaction, transforming into molten silicon liquid which solidifies upon cooling into the large primal silicon metal lumps we recognize.
These large primal silicon metal lumps are then processed into smaller, standard-size lumps measuring 10-100mm.
Silicon Metal is characterized by its silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster. It has a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.

4) In metallurgy and foundry, industrial silicon powder is valued as an iron base alloy additive and silicon steel alloy constituent, improving the hardenability of steel.
5) Silicon Metal is crucial in the production of high-temperature materials.
