Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial marvel, playing a pivotal role in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum (including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts production), silicon optoelectronics, and numerous other industries. Often referred to as the 'salt' of modern industries, this product is synthesized from quartz and coke in high-temperature electric furnaces. With a primary silicon content of approximately 98%, the remaining composition includes trace impurities of iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are created in electric heating furnaces by reducing quartz with coke. The quartz undergoes a redox reaction, transforming into molten silicon liquid, which solidifies upon cooling. Initially, these silicon metal lumps are quite large in size.
The large silicon metal lumps are subsequently broken down into smaller, standard-sized lumps. These Silicon Metal Lumps typically range in size from 10-100mm.
Boasting a silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic sheen, Silicon Metal is renowned for its high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance.
1) Silicon Metal is extensively utilized in the refractory materials and powder metallurgy industries, where it significantly enhances heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the realm of organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder is the foundational raw material for synthesizing high polymers of organic silicon.
3) Industrial silicon powder can be sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, a critical raw material for integrated circuits and electronic components, making it invaluable in high-tech fields.
4) In metallurgy and foundry, industrial silicon powder serves as an additive for iron-based alloys and a silicon steel alloying agent, thereby enhancing the hardenability of steel.
5) Silicon metal is essential in producing high-temperature materials.
Our product portfolio includes ferromanganese, metallic silicon, silicon carbon alloy, cored wire, ferrochrome, silicon manganese alloy, silicon carbide, ferrosilicon, silicon aluminum barium calcium, silicon barium calcium, and more. We also specialize in exporting refractory materials and other metallurgical products, with customization options to meet client specifications.
Equipped with a 206 cubic meter blast furnace, two 12500 kVA submerged arc furnaces, two 3600 kVA refining furnaces, four medium-frequency electric furnaces, and three cladding line production lines, our company excels in manganese series hot charging and hot mixing.
