Our Silicon Manganese Alloy is a meticulously engineered combination of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace elements of carbon, creating a versatile ferroalloy with extensive applications. Globally recognized for its second-highest consumption among electric furnace ferroalloys, this alloy showcases an impressive affinity between manganese and silicon with oxygen. In steelmaking, the deoxidation byproducts-MnSiO3 with a melting point of 1270 ºC and Mn2SiO4 at 1327 ºC-offer a low melting point, large particle size, buoyancy, and superior deoxidation efficacy. Remarkably, when utilized under identical conditions, the separate deoxidization of manganese and silicon results in burning loss rates of 46% and 37%, respectively, whereas our manganese silicon alloy achieves a reduced rate of just 29%. Production involves the reduction of manganese ore, manganese-rich slag, manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide with carbon in a submerged arc furnace, epitomizing innovation in alloy production.
