Our premium Silicon Manganese Alloy, consisting of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace elements like carbon, stands as a titan among iron alloys, famed for its widespread application and impressive production volume. It secures its position as the second most consumed ferroalloy in electric furnace operations. The manganese and silicon components in this alloy exhibit an exceptional affinity for oxygen. This attribute makes it a vital deoxidizer in steelmaking, forming deoxidation products-mnsio3 and mn2sio4-featuring melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC, respectively. This alloy boasts a low melting point, larger particles, effortless buoyancy, and superior deoxidation capabilities. When utilized, manganese or silicon alone suffers a burn loss of 46% and 37%, respectively, yet the combination deoxidizes at a mere 29%. Produced by simultaneously reducing manganese ore (including rich slag) and oxides with carbon in a submerged arc furnace, our alloy delivers unparalleled performance.
