Customized FeCr Ferrochromium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
The production of steel is the largest consumer of Ferro Chrome, with stainless steel manufacturing being particularly dependent on this essential alloy. The chromium content in stainless steel typically ranges between 10 and 20%, making Ferro Chrome indispensable in achieving the desired properties.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56% is termed 'charge chrome' and is derived from chrome-containing ore with relatively lower chrome content. On the other hand, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, produced from higher-grade ore, is integral to specialized applications such as engineering steels. Here, a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of other elements like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial for performance and quality.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome plays a pivotal role in steel production by precisely adjusting chrome percentages without introducing unwanted variations in carbon or trace element levels. This cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome is also highly sought after for super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
