Customized FeCr Ferrochromium: Premium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome for Specialized Applications
Steel production is the largest consumer of Ferro Chrome, particularly in the manufacture of stainless steel, which contains between 10% and 20% chromium. This essential component imparts strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion.
Ferro-Chrome with chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome,' is derived from lower-grade chrome ore. High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, produced from superior ores, is preferred for specialized engineering steels due to its high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is crucial in steel production for adjusting chrome levels without introducing unwanted carbon or trace elements. It offers a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome in super alloys and specialized melting applications.
