Customized FeCr Ferrochromium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
The production of steel, particularly stainless steel, relies heavily on Ferro Chrome. Stainless steel typically contains chromium content ranging from 10% to 20%, making Ferro Chrome an indispensable component in its manufacture.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56% is referred to as 'charge chrome,' produced from ore with a lower chrome content. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, derived from higher grade ore, is preferred for specialized applications like engineering steels. Here, a high Cr to Fe ratio is crucial, along with minimal levels of impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production for adjusting chrome percentages without introducing unwanted variations in carbon or trace elements. It serves as a cost-effective substitute for metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
