Bespoke FeCr Ferrochromium - Low Carbon Ferro Chrome for Precision Steel Production
Steel manufacturing stands as the foremost consumer of Ferro Chrome, prominently for stainless steel production boasting chromium concentrations between 10% and 20%.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content under 56%, recognized as 'charge chrome', is derived from chrome-enriched ore with reduced chrome levels. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome is crafted from superior grade ore and is prevalently utilized in specialized applications such as engineering steels, where a superior Cr to Fe ratio and minimal contamination from elements such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium is crucial.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is pivotal in steel production to fine-tune chrome levels, sidestepping unwanted fluctuations in carbon or trace element percentages. It also presents a cost-effective substitute to metallic chrome for applications in super alloys and other specialized melting processes.
