Customized Silicon calcium barium for steel Casting as Deoxidizer
Silicon calcium barium alloy is a highly efficient, innovative composite alloy in the barium series, serving as both a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking. It also excels in dephosphorization (BaP2, BaP3). Additionally, it functions as an inoculant and modifier in casting processes.
Barium effectively reduces the vapor pressure of calcium within the steelmaking temperature range, enhancing the solubility of calcium in molten steel. Compared to silicon calcium alloy, using silicon calcium barium alloy as a calcium source results in approximately twice the calcium content in molten steel, even if the amount added is only half. This significantly improves calcium stability in molten steel. Barium thus effectively shields calcium, reducing oxidation and enabling more efficient calcium treatments in molten steel.
