Silicon Metal is an indispensable cornerstone of modern industry. Its applications span across steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum production (including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts), as well as silicon optoelectronic devices. Often referred to as the 'salt' of contemporary manufacturing, this industrial marvel is produced by smelting quartz and coke in electric furnaces. Comprising about 98% silicon, the remaining impurities include iron, aluminum, and calcium, making it a versatile and essential material for various industries.
Produced in electric heating furnaces using quartz and coke, Silicon Metal starts as a molten silicon liquid before cooling into a solid form. The initial silicon metal lumps are quite large; subsequently, they are processed
into smaller, standardized lumps ranging from 10-100mm. These silicon metal lumps offer consistency and reliability for various industrial applications.
Boasting a silver-grey or dark-grey hue with a metallic luster, Silicon Metal features a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications.
1) Silicon Metal is extensively utilized in the refractory material and powder metallurgy industries to enhance heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as the fundamental raw material for high-polymer organic silicon formulations.
3) Industrial silicon powder is transformed into monocrystalline silicon, a critical raw material for integrated circuits and electronic components in high-tech fields.
4) Within metallurgy and foundry sectors, industrial silicon powder acts as an alloy additive for iron-based alloys and a pharmaceutical agent for silicon steel, thereby enhancing the hardenability of steel.
5) Silicon metal is pivotal in producing high-temperature materials, ensuring stability and performance under extreme conditions.
Our product portfolio includes ferromanganese, metallic silicon, silicon carbon alloy, cored wire, ferrochrome, silicon manganese alloy, silicon carbide, ferrosilicon, silicon aluminum barium calcium, silicon barium calcium, among others. We also specialize in exporting refractory materials and other metallurgical products, with customization available to meet specific client requirements.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a 206 cubic meter blast furnace, two 12500 kVA submerged arc furnaces, two 3600 kVA refining furnaces, four medium frequency electric furnaces, and three production lines for cladding.
