Silicon Metal is an essential industrial marvel that finds extensive applications in steel-making, cast iron, and the production of aluminum for aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts. Moreover, it's indispensable in the silicon optoelectronic device industry, and many other sectors. Often referred to as the 'salt' of modern industries, metal silicon is synthesized from quartz and coke through an electric heating furnace smelting process. With a silicon content of approximately 98%, this product also contains minor impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lump is meticulously produced in an electric heating furnace using quartz and coke. During this process, quartz undergoes redox reactions, transforming into molten silicon. Once cooled, it solidifies into large primal silicon metal lumps.
These large lumps are then expertly reduced into smaller, standard-size lumps ranging from 10-100mm.
Exhibiting a silver gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
1) Widely utilized in the refractory material and powder metallurgy industries to enhance heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the chemical industry, industrial silicon powder serves as a fundamental raw material for the formation of high polymers of organic silicon.
3) Industrial silicon powder is sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, a crucial raw material in the high-tech field for integrated circuits and electronic components.
4) In metallurgy and foundry applications, industrial silicon powder acts as an alloy additive for iron-base alloys and silicon steel, significantly enhancing steel's hardenability.
5) Essential in producing high-temperature materials.
