Silicon Metal is a highly versatile and crucial industrial material utilized across various sectors, including steel-making, cast iron, aluminum manufacturing (aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts), and silicon optoelectronic devices. Often referred to as the 'salt' of modern industries, silicon metal is produced by smelting quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace, resulting in a product with approximately 98% silicon content. The remaining impurities are typically iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are produced by smelting quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace. In this process, quartz undergoes a redox reaction to become molten silicon liquid. After cooling, it solidifies into large primary silicon metal lumps.
These large silicon metal lumps are then broken down into smaller, standard-sized lumps, ranging from 10-100mm.
Featuring a silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.

4) Within metallurgy and foundry industries, industrial silicon powder acts as an iron-base alloy additive and silicon steel alloy pharmaceutical, thereby improving the hardenability of steel.
5) Additionally, silicon metal is utilized in the production of high-temperature materials.
