Silicon Metal is a pivotal industrial product, renowned for its versatility in steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum industries, crucial for manufacturing aircraft, automobile parts, and silicon optoelectronic devices. Hailed as the 'salt' of modern industries, this high-value product is derived from quartz and coke, meticulously smelted in electric furnaces. Silicon Metal boasts a silicon content of approximately 98%, with minimal impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are produced in electric furnaces through the redox reaction of quartz and coke, resulting in molten silicon liquid. Once cooled, the molten silicon solidifies into large primal silicon metal lumps.
These large lumps are then processed into smaller, standardized sizes of 10-100mm, known as Silicon Metal Lumps.
Displaying a striking silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster, Silicon Metal features a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
