Depending on the smelting technique employed, ferromanganese is classified into two distinct categories: electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese.
Based on varying carbon content, ferromanganese is meticulously categorized into three distinct types:

Low-carbon category: boasting a carbon content of no more than 0.7%;
Medium carbon category: featuring a carbon content that spans from over 0.7% to 2.0%;
High-carbon category: with a carbon content ranging from over 2.0% to 8.0%.
