Silicon Metal is a crucial industrial product with versatile applications in steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum production for aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts. It also plays a significant role in the silicon optoelectronic device industry and many others, earning its title as the 'salt' of modern industries. Produced from quartz and coke in electric heating furnaces, the primary ingredient of Silicon Metal is approximately 98% silicon, with the remaining impurities consisting of iron, aluminum, calcium, and other elements.
Silicon Metal lump is created in electric heating furnaces using quartz and coke. Through a redox reaction, quartz becomes molten silicon liquid, which solidifies upon cooling into the large primal silicon metal lump.
This large lump is then processed into smaller, standardized lumps, ranging from 10-100mm.
The material exhibits a silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster. It boasts a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.

4) In metallurgy and foundry industries, industrial silicon powder is valued as an iron base alloy additive, enhancing the hardenability of steel through the alloying process with silicon steel.
