In comparative terms, the standalone deoxidation of manganese or silicon results in a burning loss rate of 46% and 37%, respectively, while the manganese silicon alloy achieves a remarkably lower rate of 29%. This alloy is crafted through the simultaneous reduction of manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag) and manganese oxide with silicon dioxide in silica, utilizing carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
