Specialized FeCr Ferrochromium: Premium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome for Advanced Steelmaking
Steel production, especially stainless steel manufacturing with a chromium content ranging between 10% and 20%, is the primary consumer of Ferro Chrome.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome,' is produced from lower-grade chrome-containing ores. In contrast, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, derived from superior grade ore, is utilized in specialized applications like engineering steels where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of other elements such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production to fine-tune chrome percentages without causing undesirable changes in carbon or trace elements. It is also a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome for applications in super alloys and other specialized melting operations.
