Calcium silicon alloy is a superior compound alloy composed of silicon, calcium, and iron. This ideal deoxidizer and desulfurization agent outperforms aluminum in final deoxidation processes. It is perfect for manufacturing high-quality steel, special steel, and unique alloys, including rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, as well as nickel-base and titanium alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys serve as excellent deoxidizers and desulfurizers, essential in producing high-grade steel. Both calcium and silicon exhibit strong chemical affinities for oxygen, with calcium displaying a notable affinity for sulphur and nitrogen as well. Approximately 90% of global CaSi consumption is attributed to the steel industry.
This versatile alloy also plays a critical role in modifying non-metallic inclusions. By controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, Calcium Silicon enhances fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel, resulting in an improved end product.
