Calcium silicon alloy is a specially formulated compound alloy comprising elements such as silicon, calcium, and iron. This alloy serves as an exceptional deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. In current industrial practices, calcium alloy can replace aluminum in the final deoxidation process, and it is extensively used in the production of high-quality steel, special steels, and unique alloys. This includes applications in rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, as well as nickel-base alloys, titanium alloys, and other specialized alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys are indispensable in the steelmaking industry, functioning as both a deoxidizer and desulfurizer for high-grade steel production. Both calcium and silicon exhibit strong chemical affinities for oxygen. Notably, calcium also shows a robust affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. The steel industry consumes roughly 90% of the global Calcium Silicon (CaSi) supply, highlighting its critical role in steel manufacturing.

Calcium Silicon Alloy is also utilized for modifying non-metallic inclusions. It is employed to control the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions. This enhances the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel product, ensuring superior performance and quality.
