Bespoke FeCr Ferrochromium: Low Carbon Ferro Chrome Solution
Steel production, particularly stainless steel manufacturing, is the predominant consumer of Ferro Chrome. Stainless steel requires chromium content ranging from 10% to 20%, making Ferro Chrome an essential element in this industry.
Ferro-Chrome with a chromium content below 56% is referred to as 'charge chrome.' It is derived from ore with a lower chromium content. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, sourced from higher-grade ore, is preferred in specialized applications such as engineering steels. These applications demand a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium, ensuring superior quality.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is integral to steel production for precisely adjusting chrome percentages while maintaining stable carbon and trace element levels. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome, ideal for super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
