When silicon carbide powder is expertly applied to the impeller or cylinder of a water turbine, it significantly enhances wear resistance, thereby prolonging the component's lifespan by 1 to 2 times. Refractories crafted from silicon carbide exhibit superb heat shock resistance, are compact, lightweight, incredibly strong, and deliver impressive energy savings. Low-grade silicon carbide, containing approximately 85% SiC, serves as a superior deoxidizer, accelerating the steelmaking process, enabling precise control of chemical composition, and enhancing steel quality. Additionally, silicon carbide is extensively utilized in the production of silicon carbide rods for electric heating elements.
