Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial product that finds extensive applications in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum (aviation, aircraft & automobile parts production), silicon optoelectronic devices, and many other industries. Often termed as the 'salt' of modern industries, this product is crafted from quartz and coke through electric furnace smelting. The primary component is silicon, comprising about 98%, with minor impurities like iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are produced in an electric heating furnace using quartz and coke. Through a redox reaction, quartz transforms into molten silicon liquid. Upon cooling, it solidifies into large primal silicon metal lumps. Subsequent processing reduces these lumps.
