Silicon Metal, often hailed as the "salt" of modern industries, is an indispensable asset in various industrial applications. It's a key player in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum production (vital for aviation, aircraft, and automotive industries), and silicon optoelectronic devices. Crafted from quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace, this remarkable product boasts an impressive silicon content of approximately 98%, with minimal impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are forged in electric heating furnaces using quartz and coke. The process entails the redox reaction of quartz, transforming it into molten silicon that solidifies upon cooling. Initially, these primal silicon metal lumps are large and robust.
Once cooled, they are skillfully crafted into smaller, more manageable lumps, known as standard sizes, measuring between 10-100mm.
With a captivating silver-gray to dark gray hue and a striking metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, impressive resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial environments.
1) Silicon Metal, renowned for its superior properties, is extensively utilized in refractory materials and the power metallurgy industry, enhancing heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance, providing top-notch performance and durability.
2) In the realm of organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as a fundamental raw material, pivotal in crafting high polymers of organic silicon, underscoring its indispensable role in the chemical industry.
3) Industrial silicon powder is transformed into monocrystalline silicon, an invaluable component in the high-tech sector, serving as a crucial raw material for integrated circuits and electronic elements, driving innovation and technological advancement.
4) In the metallurgy and foundry sectors, industrial silicon powder is considered a vital iron base alloy additive, acting as the alloy agent in silicon steel production, significantly boosting the hardenability and performance of steel, setting new standards in quality.
5) Silicon metal plays a critical role in manufacturing high-temperature materials, contributing to the creation of products that withstand extreme conditions, highlighting its importance in cutting-edge industrial applications.
