Silicon carbide, renowned for its stable chemical attributes, delivers exceptional thermal conductivity, a minimal thermal expansion coefficient, and robust wear resistance, making it invaluable beyond its abrasive applications. Notably, silicon carbide powder can be expertly applied to the impeller or cylinder of a water turbine, effectively enhancing their wear resistance and extending their operational life by 1 to 2 times. The refractory materials created from silicon carbide showcase heat shock resistance, compactness, lightweight properties, and high strength, along with excellent energy-saving capabilities. Low-grade silicon carbide, containing approximately 85% SiC, serves as an outstanding deoxidizer, accelerating the steelmaking process, facilitating precise chemical composition control, and elevating the quality of the steel produced. Furthermore, silicon carbide is extensively utilized in the fabrication of silicon carbide rods for electric heating elements.
