Ferro-Chrome featuring a chromium content below 56% is termed 'charge chrome', derived from ore with reduced chrome levels. In contrast, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome is sourced from top-grade ore and is predominantly utilized in niche applications like engineering steels, where a superior Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurities, such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium, are critical.

Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome offers precision in adjusting chrome levels during steel production without introducing unwanted carbon or trace element fluctuations. It acts as a cost-effective substitute for metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting processes.
