Customized Silicon calcium barium for steel Casting as Deoxidizer
Silicon calcium barium alloy is an exceptionally efficient, innovative composite alloy in the barium series. It serves as a superior deoxidizer and desulfurizer during steelmaking, while also providing dephosphorization functions (BaP2, BaP3). Additionally, it acts as an excellent inoculant and modifier in casting processes.
Barium significantly lowers the vapor pressure of calcium within the steelmaking temperature range and enhances the solubility of calcium in molten steel. When utilizing silicon calcium barium alloy as a calcium source, even if the calcium addition is half that required with silicon calcium alloy, the calcium content in the molten steel doubles compared to using silicon calcium alloy alone. This notable increase in calcium stability shows that barium effectively preserves calcium in the molten steel, reduces oxidation, and optimizes calcium treatment.
