Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial product that plays a crucial role in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum production (including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts), silicon optoelectronic devices, and numerous other industries. Revered as the 'salt' of modern industries, silicon metal is crafted from quartz and coke within an electric heating furnace. This smelting process yields a product with approximately 98% silicon content, with the remaining impurities consisting of iron, aluminum, calcium, and more.
Silicon Metal lumps are produced by smelting quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace. During the process, quartz undergoes reduction and oxidation, transforming into molten silicon liquid. Upon cooling, it solidifies into the substantial silicon metal lumps we recognize.
These large primal silicon metal lumps are subsequently broken down into smaller, standard-sized lumps, typically measuring 10-100mm.
Exhibiting a silver gray or dark gray hue with a striking metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts an impressive high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance.
