Depending on the method of smelting employed, ferromanganese is categorized into two primary types: electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese, each offering distinct advantages.
Based on the varying carbon content, ferromanganese is classified into three distinguished categories:

Low-Carbon Category: Featuring a carbon content of no more than 0.7%, this category is ideal for specific steelmaking applications.
Medium Carbon Category: With a carbon content ranging from greater than 0.7% to 2.0%, this type is perfect for a diverse array of industrial uses.
High-Carbon Category: Containing a carbon content of more than 2.0% up to 8.0%, this variant is highly sought after for robust steel production needs.
