Customized FeCr Ferrochromium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome - Tailored Precision for Advanced Applications
Steel production, particularly stainless steel manufacturing, is the largest consumer of Ferro Chrome. Stainless steel typically contains chromium content ranging from 10% to 20%, making Ferro Chrome an essential material in its production.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56% is termed 'charge chrome' and is derived from chrome-containing ore with lower chrome levels. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, produced from high-grade ore, is favored in specialized applications such as engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are critical.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is indispensable in steel production to adjust chrome percentages without introducing undesirable variations in carbon or trace element levels. It also serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
