Due to silicon's remarkable affinity for oxygen, forming silicon dioxide readily, ferrosilicon has become a sought-after deoxidizer in steelmaking. Furthermore, the exothermic reaction during SiO2 formation significantly elevates molten steel temperatures, optimizing the deoxidation process. Beyond deoxidation, ferrosilicon serves as a notable alloying element additive, with extensive applications spanning low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel.
