Customized Ferro Chrome (FeCr) Ferrochromium: Excellence in Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
Steel production stands as the paramount consumer of Ferro Chrome, particularly in manufacturing stainless steel with chromium content ranging from 10 to 20%. This crucial component ensures enhanced durability and stainless properties.
Ferro-Chrome with a chromium content below 56%, termed 'charge chrome,' is derived from ore with lower chromium content. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, produced from superior grade ore, is preferred for specialist applications, especially in engineering steels where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are critical.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production to adjust chrome levels without introducing unwanted variations in carbon or other trace elements. It offers a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome, suitable for super alloys and specialized melting applications.
