Silicon calcium barium alloy is a highly efficient new type of composite alloy in the barium series, which is a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking, and also has the function of dephosphorization (BaP2, BaP3); It is a inoculant and modifier in casting.
Barium effectively reduces the vapor pressure of calcium within the temperature range of steelmaking, and increases the solubility of calcium in molten steel. Compared with silicon calcium alloy, when using silicon calcium barium alloy as a calcium source to add to the steel liquid, even when the amount of calcium added is half of that of silicon calcium alloy, the calcium content in the steel liquid is about twice that of silicon calcium alloy, and the stability of calcium in the steel liquid is significantly improved. This indicates that barium effectively protects calcium in molten steel, reduces calcium oxidation, and thus achieves the goal of treating calcium in molten steel.
