Additionally, refractory materials crafted from silicon carbide boast exceptional heat shock resistance, compact size, lightweight nature, robust strength, and are notably energy efficient. Moreover, low-grade silicon carbide, comprising approximately 85% SiC, excels as a deoxidizer, significantly accelerating steelmaking, facilitating precise chemical composition control, and elevating steel quality. Furthermore, silicon carbide is extensively utilized in the production of silicon carbide rods for efficient electric heating elements.
