Product Description

Ferrosilicon is a remarkable ferroalloy composed primarily of iron and silicon, known for its versatile applications and indispensable role in various industries. Created through the meticulous smelting of coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace, Ferrosilicon acts as a powerful deoxidizer in steelmaking. It excels in synthesizing silicon dioxide, effectively removing oxygen and enhancing the quality of steel. The exothermic reaction of SiO2 generation significantly increases molten steel temperatures, optimizing the deoxidization process. Beyond its deoxidizing prowess, Ferrosilicon serves as a critical alloying element, finding widespread use in low-alloy structural steels, spring steels, bearing steels, heat-resistant steels, and electrical silicon steels. Its role as a reducing agent extends to ferroalloy production and the chemical industry, underscoring its versatility and importance in manufacturing.
