Distinguished by smelting techniques, ferromanganese can be categorized into two distinct types: electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese.
Based on carbon content, ferromanganese is classified into three exclusive categories:

Low-carbon category: Featuring a carbon content that does not exceed 0.7%;
Medium carbon category: Characterized by a carbon content ranging from greater than 0.7% to 2.0%;
High-carbon category: Encompassing a carbon content that surpasses 2.0% up to 8.0%.
