Customized FeCr Ferrochromium Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
The production of steel is the largest consumer of Ferro Chrome. Especially, stainless steel, requiring a chromium content between 10% and 20%, substantially benefits from Ferro Chrome.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome,' is derived from lower-grade chrome ore. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, sourced from higher-grade ore, is predominantly used in specialized applications like engineering steels. Here, a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of elements such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production for correcting chrome percentages without inducing undesirable variations in carbon or trace elements. It is a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome for super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
