Calcium silicon alloy is an exceptional compound made from silicon, calcium, and iron. It serves as an ideal compound deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Currently, calcium alloy is being utilized as a superior alternative to aluminum for final deoxidation. Its applications span the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and various specialized alloys including rail and low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel base alloy, and titanium alloy.
Calcium Silicon Alloys play a pivotal role as deoxidizers and desulfurizers in the production of high-grade steel. Both calcium and silicon exhibit a robust chemical affinity for oxygen, with calcium also showing a strong affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. The steel industry consumes approximately 90% of global CaSi production, underscoring its critical importance.

This versatile alloy is also instrumental in the modification of non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is adept at controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing fluidity, machinability, ductility, and the impact properties of steel products.
