Silicon manganese alloy is a robust combination of manganese, silicon, iron, and traces of carbon and other elements, forming a highly versatile iron alloy. Widely recognized for its significant role in ferroalloy products derived from electric furnaces, it holds a prominent position in the industry. The manganese and silicon within this alloy exhibit a remarkable affinity for oxygen, enhancing its performance in steelmaking. Notably, the deoxidation products, Mnsio3 and Mn2sio4, boast melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC respectively, ensuring efficient deoxidation with a low melting point and optimal particle buoyancy. Distinctively advantageous, the burn-off rates for manganese or silicon alone are 46% and 37%, yet the combined efficacy in manganese silicon alloy reduces it to an impressive 29%. This alloy is meticulously produced through a process of reducing manganese ore, including manganese-rich slag, manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide simultaneously with carbon in a submerged arc furnace, ensuring superior quality and consistency.
