Our Silicon Manganese Alloy is a carefully engineered blend of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace elements, including carbon, resulting in an alloy that is indispensable in the steelmaking industry. Its widespread use is second only to electric furnace ferroalloy products. The manganese and silicon within this alloy exhibit a notable affinity for oxygen, making the deoxidation process highly efficient. Notably, deoxidation byproducts, MNSiO3 and MN2SiO4, have melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC, respectively. Thanks to its low melting point, substantial particulate size, and excellent buoyancy, the alloy facilitates superior deoxidation. Comparative deoxidation reflects a reduced burning loss rate of 29% with our alloy versus isolated manganese or silicon deoxidation. The alloy is synthesized by simultaneous reduction of silica, manganese ore, manganese-rich slag, and manganese oxide using carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
