Based on the smelting method, ferromanganese is categorized into electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese, each offering unique properties that cater to specific metallurgical needs.
Ferromanganese is classified into three categories based on carbon content:

Low-carbon category: Contains a carbon content of no more than 0.7%, ideal for fine steel applications.
Medium carbon category: Features a carbon content ranging from 0.7% to 2.0%, suitable for robust steel manufacturing.
High-carbon category: Encompasses carbon content from 2.0% to 8.0%, perfect for enhancing steel strength and durability.
