Silicon Metal, an indispensable industrial marvel, is utilized in steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum production (ideal for aviation, aircraft & automobile parts). It's pivotal in silicon optoelectronic devices and countless industries, often honored as the 'salt' of modern industries. Derived from quartz and coke in electric heating furnace smelting, it boasts a predominant silicon content of approximately 98%, with minor impurities like iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are birthed in electric heating furnaces. Quartz undergoes redox reactions, transforming into molten silicon liquid. Once cooled, it solidifies into large primal silicon metal lumps. These are then broken down
into smaller, standard-sized lumps, typically ranging from 10-100mm.
Exhibiting a silver gray or dark gray hue with a metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance.
