Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial material with applications spanning steel-making, cast iron, aluminum manufacturing (including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts), and the silicon optoelectronic device sector, among others. This material, often referred to as the 'salt' of modern industries, is produced from the smelting of quartz and coke in electric heating furnaces. It boasts a silicon content of approximately 98%, with the remaining impurities comprising iron, aluminum, and calcium.

The creation of Silicon Metal lumps involves the use of electric heating furnaces where quartz undergoes redox reactions to become molten silicon. Once cooled, it solidifies into the large primal silicon metal lumps.
These lumps are then broken down into smaller, standard-sized pieces, typically measuring between 10-100mm.

With a striking silver-gray or dark gray hue and a metallic luster, Silicon Metal is celebrated for its high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
