Ferro molybdenum ( Ferro moly ) is an exceptional alloy primarily composed of iron (Fe) and molybdenum (Mo). It is meticulously produced by melting iron and molybdenum sources, commonly ferrosilicon and industrial-grade molybdenum oxide, together in a high-temperature furnace. The resulting alloy typically boasts a molybdenum content ranging from50% to 75% . Notably, ferromolybdenum is not classified as a hazardous material for transportation, ensuring ease and safety in shipment.

Ferro molybdenum is a versatile additive in steelmaking and cast iron production. Its primary role is to enhance the hardenability, strength, and corrosion resistance of the final metal products. The significant presence of molybdenum in the alloy augments its ability to withstand high temperatures, making it indispensable in industries such as automotive, construction, petroleum, and natural gas.
