When silicon carbide powder is applied to a water turbine's impeller or cylinder through a specialized process, it enhances wear resistance, extending the component's service life by 1 to 2 times. As a refractory material, it boasts remarkable heat shock resistance, compact size, lightweight, high strength, and an impressive energy-saving effect. Furthermore, low-grade silicon carbide (approximately 85% SiC) serves as an outstanding deoxidizer, accelerating the steelmaking process, facilitating precise chemical composition control, and elevating steel quality. Additionally, silicon carbide finds extensive use in manufacturing silicon carbide rods for electric heating elements.
