Customized Silver Gray Silicon Barium Calcium Alloy for Steelmaking Industry Applications
Calcium silicon alloy, a sophisticated compound made from silicon, calcium, and iron, serves as an exceptional deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Today, this alloy can replace aluminum in final deoxidation processes, making it invaluable in the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and unique alloys. It is particularly effective in the manufacturing of rail and low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel base alloy, titanium alloy, and other specialized alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys act as powerful deoxidizers and desulfurizers in the production of premium grade steel. Both calcium and silicon exhibit a strong chemical affinity for oxygen, with calcium also showing significant affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. Approximately 90% of global CaSi consumption is attributed to the steel industry.
This alloy is further utilized to modify non-metallic inclusions, controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions. This results in enhanced fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel product, ultimately elevating its overall quality.
