Product Description

Ferrosilicon, a potent ferro alloy, blends ferro and silicon to create an indispensable material. This alloy is crafted by smelting a mixture of coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace. Known for its ability to form silicon dioxide with oxygen, ferrosilicon acts as a superior deoxidizer in steelmaking. The enthralling process of SiO2 formation releases a significant amount of heat, aiding in the deoxidation and boosting the temperature of molten steel. Additionally, ferrosilicon serves as a vital alloying element additive, finding extensive use in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel.
